for Charlotte Laws
Charlotte Laws was elected to serve as a Greater Valley Glen
Council member. She is now serving her second term. She sits on the Government Relations Committee and
the Land Use & Planning Committee.
Charlotte
has had extensive experience in community outreach,
working in both the private and nonprofit sectors.
She has been a Realtor © since 1987 and is currently a
top agent with Prudential. She is listed among the top
1% of Realtors © nationwide. She is the recipient of
the Prudential President's Club Award and Real Estate's

Charlotte's
interaction with the community as a real estate agent has kept
her in touch with local needs. Her community involvement is
extensive, ranging from regular donations out of every closed
escrow to the Aaroe Associates Charitable Foundation to personal
contributions and volunteer work for numerous not-for-profit
groups. She is the founder and president of the League for Earth

Protecting
nonhumans and the environment is a top priority for her. She is
currently involved with two not-for-profit projects: the
implementation of public "no-kill animal shelters" in
California cities and a vegetarian program for local
restaurants, intended to support vegetarian options and bring
customers / business to the local community.
In
2004, she was appointed to the Advisory Board for Center
on Animal Liberation Affairs (CALA), and selected to
serve on the No-Kill Council, chairing the
Community Partnerships Committee. In January 2005, she was voted
to act as the Director of Animal Welfare for Valley Glen.
Charlotte
attained a Ph.D. in Social Ethics from the University of
Southern California (USC) and holds two Master's Degrees: in
Professional Writing (USC) and in Social Ethics (USC). She also
has two Bachelor Degrees: in Philosophy from California State
University, Northridge (CSUN) and in Theatre Arts (CSUN).
Charlotte has completed doctoral level coursework at the
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and post-doctoral
work at Oxford University, England. She has taken continuing
education classes in community development, conflict resolution,
computers, real estate, et al. from various universities and
community colleges.

Charlotte
is the author of a 1988 motivational self-help book
(Ross Books, Berkeley) and of a new publication titled Armed for Ideological
Warfare. Charlotte authors a section
of the 2005 book, Igniting a Revolution, Voices In
Defense of Mother Earth, (edited by Dr. Steven
Best and Anthony J. Nocella, II). She is the author of
numerous articles published in the L.A. Times,
Special Report, E The Environmental Magazine, The
Burbank Leader, The Santa Monica Daily Press, Human
Beams, Opinion Editorials, The Tolucan Times, Buzzle
Magazine, Publisher's Weekly, The Globe, L.A.
